During the first few weeks of life, this new baby is exploding with life! Now that it's comfortable in it's new home called the uterus, it begins forming all of its tiny organs like the: backbone, spinal column, nervous system, kidneys, liver and intestines…WOW! Many lifeblood sacs are being produced to help the baby continue to grow safely.

After just 4 weeks, things are beginningto look fantastic for this little one. The fertilized egg now has a new name-doctors call this a blastocyst, the new baby is having a blast growing this fast! The mommy wants to help the baby have fun, so she let's the new baby swim in her amniotic fluid. It's like a big swimming pool for the little one. Good thing mom is eating her veggies! All this work needs great nutrition!

At just 5 weeks after conception, the embryo is about 3/8" (8-10 mm) and weighs 1oz.(28 mg.) The tiny arms and legs are visible and the brain is forming as well as the little ears.

6weeks: The baby can feel and sense all kinds of things now. Are you ticklish on your toes? The tiny fingers and toes of this baby are getting so cute.

8 weeks: the eyelids are forming and everything is looking great! Just two months after baby moved into mommy's tummy, things sure look good. Together mommy and baby are working hard to help the baby grow and develop.

2 months: Here's looking at you kid--Wow! The tiny baby is now called a fetus. All the organs and "baby stuff" are newly complete. Even though it's just over 1 ½ inches long, it's tiny muscles are already active…. It's getting all of its nutrients now through the umbilical cord that's hooked up to the mommy. She'll give it plenty of good nutrients from the food she eats and the air she breathes, and she'll take away those things that would hurt the baby like waste and toxins.

3 months: This little masterpiece is now about 3" from the head to the buttocks and weight about ½ oz (14g). The hands look terrific and the baby now has a fingerprint. The baby might spend a lot of time doing fun baby things like sucking it's thumb and "performing" in the mommy's swimming pool.
